Feng Shui Compass, also widely known as Luo Pan is the most essential tool of a Feng Shui practitioner.

In the eye of most people, a compass is being seen as just a navigational tool to find directions, but for Feng Shui compass, it does not only tells the direction, but also the flow of Chi of the external and internal environment.

As compared to the conventional compass that only take the 8 main directions, the Luo
Pan further splits these 8 directions (Feng Shui Bagua) into 24 mountains/sub-directions, which is a key reference in calculations to determine the favourable and unfavourable directions. After determining the direction, they will be plotted in the geomantic chart of the house and applied the popular Feng Shui system like the 8 Mansion or the Xuan Kong Flying Stars.

Tips When Using The Feng Shui Compass

1. Avoid having any items that are made of metal, like jewellery and electronic devices on your body (for example, mobile phone, radio and etc). The reason is because these item carry magnetic field that can influence accuracy of the measurement result.

2. Before measuring, inspect the compass and ensure that it is not faulty or having a bent needle.

3. Hold your compass at waist level in a horizontal position.

4. When taking the measurement, always avoid those area that has electronic inference, like a tablet lying on the table, hi-fi system and etc.

Other Use of Feng Shui Compass – Luo Pan

It can also be an effective Feng Shui cure against many different Sha Qi. It is believed that if you display a Lo Pan at home, it can keep away negative Qi and also protect the household due to all the auspicious symbols and numbers on it. It works some sort like a Ba Gua Mirror, but you can safely display it indoors.
